Meet Your Maker-ers

Hi everyone! This is Roz. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to learn more about Part-E-Bots! A lot of love and time (and money, LOTS of money) went into making this company and Dom and I are thrilled to share our passion with you. Below is a bit more information about me and Dom and our adventures building The Great Gatsbooth. It’s a little weird writing in third-person and trying to sound like an authority on even my own life, but hang in there, it’s going to be a fun ride!

About Dom

Dominic is not only a Wichitan but a native Kansan. He had a tepid and meaningless life until he met Roz (Ha ha, me again, Roz here… did you forget I’m the one writing this?). Kidding though: Dom worked hard and studied hard and holds both a BS and MS degree in Computer Science. He is currently in the throes of earning his Ph-oh-no-you-Didn’t (er, PhD) in Human Factors Psychology at Wichita State University. He is an avid tinker-er and beloved community activist who has co-founded and been deeply involved in such wonderful community staples as MakeICT, and BikeWalk Wichita. He is also fun at parties.

About Roz

Rosalind is a surprising amount of fun for being a native Texan. She moved to Wichita in late 2016 to crash her sister’s couch and be a general nuisance, but instead ended up plugged in to a super cool side of Wichita. Prior to Wichita, Roz spent a goodly piece of her 20’s in the U.S. Army and got to trot the globe as a Chaplain’s Assistant oooh la la! Post-army, Roz earned a BA degree in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University. She is currently preparing to start her doctoral studies at Wichita State University in Community Psychology.

Roz + Dom = Part-E-Bots

One magical day, Roz’s beloved sister (the one with the crashable couch) has a Christmas party… guess who was invited to this shindig? Dom. And just who was lucky enough to have answered the door? Oh yeah, you better believe it was me 😉 Once the angel choirs and holy light had cleared, we didn’t speak for the rest of the evening. That’s reality… am I right? We did manage to connect the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that, and have been pretty much inseparable since! Part-E-Bots and The Great Gatsbooth came about from my demand to have a photo booth at our wedding (I told you we have been inseparable!). We shopped and shopped for photo booths but found them to be pretty expensive and take up a huge amount of party space. For people who were considering an at-home wedding, sacrificing a 10′ x 10′ space (pretty much the whole living room) for a picture machine was simply too much! So, in true pioneer spirit, Dom said “I could make one of those” and here we are. We took a chunk of our wedding money to build The Great Gatsbooth with the hope that we can bring other people a smaller, cheaper, funkier photo booth, and then use the profit (is there is any) to fund our wedding. It was a wed-vestment, if you will. We are so excited to offer our labor of love to the greater Wichita area and hope that you enjoy it too!
